SW keeps H-L winless in league

BASCOM – Edy Mowrey went 3 for 4 and scored twice Saturday to key St. Wendelin’s 9-2 Midland Athletic League win against Hopewell-Loudon.

Mowrey belted a double and Cortney Babb added a triple, two runs and two RBIs to help Allie Rutter (3-1) get the complete-game win.

Hunter Weidner doubled, scored and drove in a run, Mikayla Gilliland singled twice and Meghan Reiter scored twice and singled for the Mohawks (8-10, 3-4 MAL).

Alaina Gosche (1-6) took the loss for the Chieftains (2-18, 0-5).

Kelsey Coppus doubled, scored and knocked in a run, Emma Kirby had a double and RBI and Michelle Wilfong singled and scored.

Carey tames Tigers

CAREY – Makenzie Wentling had four RBIs and two runs over her own as she led the Blue Devils past North Baltimore, 7-4. Chelsea Schlack, Taylor Fletcher and Hannah Draper each had one RBI. Schlack had two runs while Dani Berardinelli-Clark, Raven Moloney and Jordan Strahm each scored one run for Carey. Ali Rymer and Wentling each doubled.

Rymer tossed the compete game giving up four runs while striking out six.

North Baltimore’s Rachel Peters, Jasmine Bretz, Haleigh Fleck and Chelsea Stewart each recorded one RBI. Morgan Baltz, Makayla Rein, Bailey Boyer and Morgan Rose were each plated once. Rein had one double.
