Blue Devils bounced in eighth

FINDLAY – Arlington pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth Thursday to nip Carey, 6-5, in a Division IV district semifinal.

Carey (6-14) led 4-1 after the second inning, but the Red Devils (18-5) rallied for three runs in the sixth to knot the score.

Both teams scored once in the seventh.

Losing pitcher Satchel Strahm and Jonathan Racheter both singled twice and drove in a run for Carey. Matt Holsinger added two RBIs off two singles and Steve Yontz had a single and RBI.

FHS overwhelms Rossford

ROSSFORD – Fostoria broke free with five runs in the top of the fifth Thursday on the way to whipping Northern Buckeye Conference foe Rossford, 12-4.

The Redmen (15-11, 4-7 NBC) led just 4-2 before erupting in the fifth.

Hunter Abell doubled and singled for FHS, Robby Crotty singled twice, Sethe Dautherty and Donavon Vogel both doubled and Chris Hampton singled.

Trey Yates (4-4) picked up the win.

Raiders turn away Senecas

KANSAS – Jacob Aaron scored twice and Nick Watts struck out nine Thursday as Lakota upended Calvert 5-3 in Midland Athletic League play.

Jordan Jaso singled twice for the Raiders (11-11, 6-4 MAL) to help Watts get the complete-game win.

Dakota Gilbert, Aaron, Jack Raymond and Casey Monroe each singled. Monroe added a run and RBI, Madison Jaso and Brenden Biddle both scored and Aaron and Kyle Below each knocked in a run.

Austin Prenzlin singled twice for the Senecas, Sam Shelt-Palm and Drew Ritzler each drove in a run and Jacob Zimmerman doubled and singled.
