Huron sweeps Calvert
HURON – Calvert won just a pair of games against Huron, and lost to the Tigers 5-0.
The Senecas won their games in second doubles, where team of Miranda Shorts and Amanda Traxler fell to Huron’s Troy Munson and Paul Dunn, 6-0, 6-2.
In singles play, Huron’s Jake Guerrero knocked off Calvert’s Ryan Gase, 6-0, 6-0. The Tigers’ Benji Battiste then blanked the Senecas’ Phillip Boes, 6-0, 6-0.
In first doubles, Danny George and Nick Martorana lost 6-0, 6-0 to Huron’s Jerry Nutter and Andrew Brose.
Calvert’s Amanda Matorana lost in third singles, 6-0, 6-0, to Zach Stauder.
Bellevue tops TC
BELLEVUE – Braden Kuhn recorded Columbian’s only win Tuesday, as Bellevue upended the Tornadoes, 4-1.
Kuhn won his No. 2 singles match, defeating Nick Bock 6-1, 7-5.
The Tornadoes lost a number of close matches Tuesday. No. 1 singles player Nick Gaietto fell to Aaron Price, 0-6, 6-4, 6-3, while No. 3 singles player Ben Klepper lost to the Redmen’s Tate Schoen, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).
In doubles play, Bellevue’s Matt Pook and Josh Becks beat Hunter Stark and Eline Widman, 7-5, 7-6. In second doubles, the Redmen’s Drew Ring and Jake Cagolla topped Zach Gaietto and Adam Young, 6-3, 6-3.
Rams plow through Crestline
UPPER SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky rolled over Crestline Tuesday, blanking the Bulldogs, 5-0.
Seth Sprang got things started for the Rams by knocking off Crestline’s Ryan Martin, 6-1, 6-0. That was followed by Evan Scheck, who shut out the Bulldogs’ Cody Taylor, 6-0, 6-0. The Rams’ third singles player, Seth Frey, won his match by forfeit.
In doubles play, the team of Daniel Maltsbarger and Aaron Pirc defeated Crestline’s Blake Miller and Hunter Music, 6-4, 6-0, while Drew Barth and Noah Frey scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over the Bulldogs’ Alex Langdon and Jacob Martin.
The Rams moved to 4-2, 2-0 in the North Central Conference.
