Boys Basketball Roundup: Perry nears triple-double in Old Fort triumph over MVCD
TOLEDO – Hunter Perry nearly had a triple-double and two teammates combined for 22 points Saturday in Old Fort’s 66-55 win over Maumee Valley Country Day.
Perry led the way with 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists for the Stockaders (12-4).
Maison Steyer added 12 points and four steals and Jon Lotycz scored 10 points. Brad Bannister snared four steals.
Rally sends H-L above .500
BASCOM – Hopewell-Loudon rallied in the fourth quarter Saturday to turn a six-point deficit into a 48-47 win over Arcadia.
Arcadia extended a 29-25 halftime lead to 39-33 by the end of the third period before the Chieftains (9-8) countered with a 15-8 scoring run in the fourth.
Ryan Lommerse tossed in a game-high 20 points for H-L and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Weston Hill added nine points and Waleed Salem snared three steals.
Shae Watkins paced the Redskins (5-9) with 18 points and 12 boards. Josh Ireland had 16 points and three steals and Hayden Ramsey tallied nine points and four assists.
Too much St.?Mary balance does in Mohawks
FOSTORIA – Four Sandusky St. Mary players scored in double digits Saturday in a 68-33 romp over St. Wendelin.
Melvin Jackson led the way with 13 points, and Denarius Harris turned in 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Panthers (12-3).
Brett St. Clair and Justin Fraser each chipped in 10 points, with St. Clair adding three assists and three steals. Lucas Will also dished three assists.
Gabe Walters keyed the Mohawks (5-9) with 11 points and 11 boards. Nick Root had eight points and three assists.
Redmen overrun Mohawk
BUCYRUS – Brian Souffer’s 17 points led four double-digit scorers for Bucyrus in Saturday’s 65-50 win over Mohawk.
Greg Patrick backed him with 16 points for the Redmen (10-7), Austin Williams netted 12 and Darrien Hedges tossed in 10. Hedges also grabbed seven rebounds.
Mitch Parker keyed the Warriors (3-11) with 18 points. Hunter Fitschen scored 19 points, Brayden Dunlap netted eight points and Gunnar Johnson hauled in seven boards.
Eagles vault NR early
NORTH ROBINSON – Colonel Crawford roared off to a 48-23 halftime lead en route to beating New Riegel 71-44 Saturday.
Todd Enterman pumped in 30 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Eagles (13-3) and Conner McCleary tossed in 19 points.
Chad Cassidy and Tim Ink both scored 12 points for the Blue Jackets (6-9), with Jake Dryfuse adding eight. Dryfuse also hauled in seven rebounds and Cassidy had six.
Raiders turn up the heat on Polar Bears
KANSAS- Lakota paced their way to a 68-38 win at home against Hardin Northern.
The Polar Bears had a meltdown during the second half, allowing Lakota to go on 23-6 run in the third quarter.
Lakota had four of its players finish with double digit scoring efforts.
Colin Timmons set the pace for the Raiders with 15 total points. Josh Kirkpatrick came away with 13 points, Hunter Chalfin and Kyle Below each added 11.
