Wilson, Jones help Columbian keglers strike out Gibsonburg
Kris Wilson rolled nine strikes in his first game, Will Jones tallied 11 in his second and Columbian kept the pressure up from there Tuesday in a 2,699-2,296 Northern Ohio Bowling Conference win over Gibsonburg.
Wilson registered a 259 in his first game and Jones’ effort – one strike shy of a perfect game – put the Tornadoes (14-2, 6-2 NOBC) up 1,833-1,536 after the first two games.
Columbian followed by beating the Golden Bears 866-760 in the Baker games for the final victory total.
Jones ended with a 459 series and Wilson followed with a 448. John Funk (367) and Gerad VanHoosier (343) each had a series top 340, with Graydon Bunting (157) and Shawn Fitch (59) each rolling a game for TC.
Jacob Kaiser’s 369 series topped Gibsonburg.
Meanwhile, Columbian’s girls remained winless after a 2,050-1,858 loss to the Golden Bears.
Grace Jividen’s 305 and Brooke Devore’s 303 paced Gibsonburg to its victory.
Candice Kaminski led TC with a 311 series. Bry Riedlinger (246), Brooke Mira (238), Tawny Sarver (211) and Kaitlin Evans (196) also contributed for Columbian.
