Troike dominates, Mohawks win big

FOSTORIA – Kamryn Troike continues to dominate, and St. Wendelin continues to win.

The sophomore wreaked havoc on Cardinal Stritch Monday night, with 20 points and nine rebounds in the Mohawks’ 47-27 victory in Fostoria.

Troike, who came in averaging 18 points and 13 rebounds, made 10 of 11 shots from the floor as St. Wendelin improved to 10-4.

Ali Rutter added 10 points and five rebounds for the Mohawks, while Makenzie McAfee added nine points and five assists.

CeCe Gozdowski, Kama Hardy and Kali Hardy each scored six point to tie for Stritch’s team lead.

No. 8 Bucks take it to Warriors

NEW WASHINGTON – Buckeye Central – ranked eighth in the state in Division IV – dominated all four quarters Monday night in dropping visiting Mohawk, 84-42.

The Bucks (13-1) had three players score in double figures, led by Austin Wurm, who had 19 points and five rebounds. Cade Kaple matched Wurm with 19 points, and the two combined for six 3-pointers.

Sam Robertson had 13 points for the Bucks, who shot a blistering 29 of 47 from the floor.

Mohawk was led by Mitch Parker, who had 13 points, and Hunter Fitschen, who had 12.

Mohawk was outrebounded 27-11 in the loss.
