Columbian bowls a split

Columbian split its match Thursday against Eastwood. The boys crushed 172 more pins to pick up a 2,929-2,757 victory.

Shawn Fitch led the single game action for the Tornadoes, rolling a 258. Joining him in the 200-plus club were Kris Wilson’s 235 and Gerad VanHoosier’s 232, while Will Jones rolled a 200. Fitch also recorded the high series rolling a 435 while Wilson followed closely by knocking down 421 pins.

Eastwood kept things tight heading into the Baker games, trailing by only 102 pins.

Kyle Waynick’s 228 pins led the single games for the Eagles. Ben Tussing rolled a 212 while Lucas Rucki struck down 221 pins and 215 pins in both single games for a high series of 436.

Columbian topped 200 in three of its five Baker games, hitting 230, 226, and 212.

Eastwood broke 200 in only one of its five Baker games, peaking at 227.

Columbian’s girls couldn’t get the ball rolling in a 2,389-1,826 loss.

Hailey Shafer bowled the high game for the Eagles with 222 pins. She rolled the high series with a 405. Kat Przybylski and Hope Murua each rolled impressive series, knocking down 381 and 302 pins respectively.

Eastwood’s girls bowled topped 150 in three of their five Baker games, hitting highs of 181, 169 and 152.

Columbian’s girls could only put together high games of 134 and 132 in the Baker games.

Bry Riedlinger led the Tornadoes with the high game of 166. She also boasted the best series, knocking down 299 pins.
