Multi-winners let TC rule the pool

Columbian’s boys had five swimmers each figure in at least three wins and the girls team had one as both sets of Tornadoes swept duals Saturday from Fostoria, Calvert and St. Wendelin.

The boys scored 62 points in each dual, with Fostoria getting 13 and Calvert and St. Wendelin each ending with 2.

Fostoria beat Calvert 33-7 and St. Wendelin 38-2, with Calvert and St. Wendelin tying at 8.

Chris Gates and Braden Kuhn paced TC’s boys.

Both swam legs on the winning 200 medley relay (1:52.1) and 200 free relay (1:42.13). Gates also took the 500 free (5:17.69) and 100 back (1:03.3), while Kuhn claimed the 100 free (54.22) and 100 breast (1:12.67).

Nate Ramsdell and Isaac Lewis also swam on the 200 medley relay, with Lewis and Adam Young helping on the 200 free relay.

Ramsdell added wins in the 200 free (2:14.15) and 100 fly (1:03.62), Lewis captured the 50 free (24.7), and Young took the 200 IM (2:41.28).

Young, Damon Prenzlin, Eline Widman and Justin Schwartz wrapped up TC’s wins by claiming the 400 free relay (4:48.07).

Harsh Bilodiya sparked Fostoria, taking second in the 500 free (8:56.04) and swimming with Dylan Weimerskirch, Alex Souders and Blake Bush to take second in the 400 free relay (5:07.69).

Calvert got a third from Anthony Traxler in the 50 free (26.51).

In the girls meet, TC beat Fostoria 67-18, Calvert 52-30 and St. Wendelin 38-12.

Calvert upended Fostoria 43-25 and St. Wendelin 44-24, with Fostoria edging St. Wendelin 34-32.

Lindsay Young, Alexis Desjardins, Natalie Howard and Kamryn Sharlow took the 200 medley relay (2:11.16) for TC, with Young, Howard, Sharlow and Jordan Jarrett capturing the 200 free relay (1:56.22).

Other wins came from Desjardins in the 100 breast (1:28.08), Sharlow in the 50 free (28.64) and Jarrett in the 500 free (6:25.75).

Calvert’s Katie Tiell and Corinne Harris also each figured in three wins.

Both swam with Carmella Fabrizio and Amanda Traxler to capture the 400 free relay (4:38.96).

Tiell added wins in the 200 free (2:19.05) and 100 free (1:01.12), while Harris took the 100 fly (1:04.53) and 100 back (1:07.6).

Fostoria’s Cyenna Lindsey won the 200 IM (3:16.55).

St. Wendelin got thirds from Jaden Ogg in the 50 free (32.16) and Sammie Digby in the 100 breast (1:36.27).
