Boys Basketball Roundup: Perry’s 32 leads Old Fort to 3-0
OLD FORT – Hunter Perry racked up 32 points as the Stockaders stayed undefeated beating Arcadia, 72-55. Perry was 4 of 6 from the free throw line and snagged nine rebounds.
Maison Steyer recorded 12 points, seven rebounds while Brad Bannister added eight points.
Chris Anstead and Jon Lotycz each recorded six points for the Stockaders.
Arcadia’s leading scorers where Josh Ireland with 15 points and Hayden Ramsey with 11. Ramsey added eight rebounds for the Redskins.
St. Wendelin gets first win
FOSTORIA – Led by Nick Root’s 21 points, St. Wendelin picked up its first victory by beating Hardin Northern, 63-48.
Gabe Walters followed with 17 points and eight rebounds for the Mohawks (1-2).
Brady Rutter added 11 points and made three of the team’s six 3-pointers. Peter Campbell also recorded eight rebounds and nine points.
Hardin Northern’s Jacob Gossard racked up 26 points and five rebounds. Rylie Drumm added 13 points for the Polar Bears.
Panthers pull away in fourth
NEW RIEGEL – McComb stormed off in the fourth quarter Saturday to beat New Riegel 51-37.
The Panthers (1-2) led just 31-29 after the third quarter, but used a 20-8 surge in the fourth to get the victory.
Clay Grubb’s 20 points and eight rebounds paced McComb.
Tim Ink scored 14 points for the Blue Jackets (1-2) and Jake Dryfuse tallied 13 points and 14 rebounds. Michael Kirian added 12 boards and three assists.
Rams roll over SE
UPPER SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky raced to a 42-17 lead by halftime Saturday en route to an 84-39 win over Seneca East.
Ethan Caudill tallied 11 points and two assists for the Tigers in the loss.
Hunter Saylors backed him with eight points and two assists, Josh Waggoner snared two steals and Johnny Diehm had two assists.
