Carey opens season with OT?win
CAREY – Carey was so excited to play in its first game of the regular season that it played an extra five minutes.
Sydney Wentling scored 16 points and dished out six assists,, Ali Rymer had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Shelby Kin added seven points as the Blue Devils edged Wynford, 62-61, in overtime.
The Blue Devils trailed, 35-30 at halftime, but used a 15-7 third-quarter surge to pull ahead before the Royals tied the game and forced OT.
Carey made five 3s on the night, three of which came from Wentling. The Blue Devils also were strong from the line, making 25 of 29 attempts.
Wynford slipped to 1-1.
