Warriors run second
FOSTORIA – Mohawk captured second in the team standings and Old Fort’s Kayla Garza led the locals by running 10th Saturday in the Black Division race at the Fostoria Booster Invitational.
Liberty Center beat Mohawk 24-80 for the title, with Hopewell-Loudon holding off St. Wendelin 154-160 for third. Carey took 11th (253).
Shauna Leeth keyed the runner-up Warriors by running 11th (21:18.09) and McKenzie Richardson took 14th (21:57.6). Haley Leeth added a 21st (22:23.720, Kayla Risner claimed 24th (22:35.11) and Beth Dundore crossed the line 29th (22:48.39).
Leah Reinhart’s 15th (22:00.17) and Keely Hoover’s 35th (23:09.36) paced H-L.
Victoria Volpe claimed 19th (22:12.81) for St. Wendelin and Jocelyn Reinhart took 31st (22:59.83).
Carey got a 34th from Jaclyn Troiano (23:05.78) and a 54th from Amber Spurlock (24:28.55).
Garza clocked in 10th (21:16.75) for Old Fort, which did not field a full team.
Seneca East also did have a full team. Jaclyn Willman took 89th (26:35.85) for the Tigers.
Gibson first, TC second
FOSTORIA -Brandon Gibson’s time of 16:13.22 was good enough for a win Saturday in the Red Division race at the Fostoria Booster Invitational.
Along with Tyler Lewis clocking in at 16:24.88 for third, Columbian finished second in the team standings. Bryan took the title by a 62-91 margin over the Tornadoes.
Chris Gates finished just outside the top 10 with a time of 17:21.63 to end 11th for TC. Adam Forrest (18:02.63), Tyler Mesnard (18:13.1) and Kyler Lange (18:22.1) finished 35th, 41st and 48th.
Columbian finished fifth place in the girls Red Division, sparked by Derra Cheatham’s 11th (20:48.6).
Cassandra Gooding (21:19.67), Amanda Schwartz (22:00.09), Alexis Desjardins (22:05.99) and Abrie Smith (22:16.66) finished 20th, 37th, 41st and 47th.
Seneca East dominates
SMITHBURG, Md. – Seneca East runners finished 1-2-3 Saturday as the Tigers beat Southern Garrett 22-44 for the Don Stoner Invitational championship.
Jared Stockmaster lead the way by taking first in 16:08.7 for Tigers. Carson Pipher ran second in 16:43.4 and Wes Pipher captured third in 17:11.9.
Robby Schaffer added an eighth (18:37.6) and Michael Szabo crossed the line 13th (18:53.8). Bryce Watson (16th, 18:59) and Garrick Manning (21st, 19:41.1) also ran for Seneca East.
Lakota takes 10th
ANNA – Lakota’s boys finished 10th at the Anna Rocket Invitational.
Luke Baker’s time of 17:54.4 led the team and earned 17th for the Raiders. Caleb Tolento (18:41.4), and Matthew Steiner (19:31.9) finished 55th and 83rd.
Lakota girls took 15th in their race. Cariss Reese’s 11th (20:18.7) paced the Raiders. Amanda Lane (23:25.5) and Morgan Mowry (23:33.5) finished 66th, and 69th.
