Tiffin falls to Cardinals

BAY CITY, Mich. – On the road Tiffin University found itself in a back and fourth match, but came up short as it was defeated by Saginaw Valley State, 26-24, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20, 17-15. Danielle McQuade recorded 19 kills and 13 digs for TU, while Tiffany Buchinger had two kills, two aces, and nine digs. Chelsea Stockmeyer added 13 kills and two digs, and Sabine Stadler added 12 kills.

Ashley Driscoll lead the Cardinals with 12 kills, four digs, while Kaylee Schmitt recorded 11 kills and three digs. Kate Czopek added five kills, two aces, and 17 digs.

‘Berg finds double trouble

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – Heidelberg played two matches Saturday at the Midwest Invitational, losing to each opponent. In the first match Heidelberg fell to Clarkson University 25-18, 25-21, 25-22. Amber Welfle recorded seven kills, two aces, eight digs, while Mohawk graduate Sarah Parker had eight kills, two digs, while Stephanie Romie added four kills, and eight digs. Clarkson’s Aishvina Arasu recorded 10 kills, two aces, three digs, Victoria Kirkemo had eight kills, five aces, 14 digs, and Erika Chin added one kill, two aces, and 18 digs.

In the second match Heidelberg was defeated by Elmhurst University, 25-18, 25-17, 25-9. Welfle recorded nine kills, two digs, Jamie Kluding had three kills, Sarah Botts had three kills and Grace Samenuk added nine digs.

Elmhurst’s Marci Novak recorded 12 kills, two aces, seven digs, while Megan Reynolds had 11 kills, one dig, Kaitlyn Wilks had six kills, one ace, two digs, and Sam Szarmach added six kills, two aces, and five digs.
