Sauber brilliant as H-L prevails

NORTH BALTIMORE – Shelbi Sauber set a school record with 15 aces, leading Hopewell-Loudon to a 25-11, 25-16, 25-8 win over North Baltimore.

Sauber’s strong match went beyond serving. She had 15 kills, 10 digs and 15 assists.

She was aided by teammate Courtney Burns, who had 20 kills, 11 assists, five digs and served three aces.

Kassie Shaver added eight kills, seven digs for the Chieftains, who improved to 6-3 in the MAL. Michelle Welly and Baleigh Searles each had 10 digs.

Carey gets past Old Fort

OLD FORT – Old Fort kept getting closer to Carey, but didn’t get over the top in any of the three games between the two teams.

Carey swept the Stockaders, 25-9, 25-21, 26-24. Carey’s Sydney Wentling dished out 30 assists, while Shelby Seifert had 16 kills, 11 digs and four blocks. Shelby Kin added nine kills..

Carey improved to 11-6, 5-4.

For Old Fort, Sydney Clouse had nine kills, while Sara Bell had eight and Jordan Magers had five. Allison Adelsperger had 25 assists, while Shelby Bilger had 16 digs.

Old Fort fell to 3-6, 7-13.

New Riegel gets a quick victory over Bobcats

NEW RIEGEL – Kara Scherger lined 11 kills, and Morgan Noftz served 13 aces to go with 13 assists as New Riegel knocked off Bettsville, 25-4, 25-5, 25-7.

Lauren Ladd had nine kills for the Blue Jackets, who cruised to 19-0, 9-0 in the Midland Athletic League. Taylor Arbogast added five kills for the Blue Jackets, while Brittany Gillig had seven digs. Alexis Kieffer had three kills and Leah Bouillon had seven assists.

Lakota drops Tigers

ATTICA -Lakota upended Midland Athletic League foe Seneca East 25-10, 12-25, 25-21, 25-16 Thursday.

Kristen Bowerman pounded seven kills and three blocks for the Tigers in the loss.

Rachel Bauman added nine digs, six assists and three kills, Holly Bordner came up with 20 digs, Mykayla Ruffing chipped in 11 assists and seven digs and Cameil Ruffing lined four kills.
