Dragons golf finishes in ninth
EUREKA, Mo. – Tiffin University’s men’s golf team took ninth place out of 23 teams with a score of 613 (+37) during the Midwest regional at Fox Run Golf Club in Missouri.
Brett Green tied for 24th shooting a 152. John Tidenberg (T33) and Tyler Ries (T50) had scores of 153 and 155 for the Dragons. Tyler Maranville (T62) shot a 157, while Tyler Schepens (T94) recorded a score of 163.
‘Berg swats Yellow Jackets
BEREA – Heidelberg weren’t bothered by the buzz of the Yellow Jackets as it defeated Baldwin Wallace 25-22, 23-25, 25-11, 28-26.
Amber Welfle lead Heidelberg (12-13, 4-0 OAC) with 23 kills, one ace and 18 digs. Jamie Kluding followed suit adding 13 kills, one ace and 11 digs. Sarah Parker had nine kills, one ace and three digs.
Janessa Scott added eight kills and four digs for Heidelberg. Grace Samenuk recorded one kill, one ace and 22 digs.
Baldwin Wallace’s Markema Winters had 13 kills and Kayala Harris added 10 kills and three digs.
Shannon Deleur had two aces and 18 digs, while Arlayna Newcomer recorded 20 digs for the Yellow Jackets.
Baldwin Wallace edges ‘Berg
With less than five minutes to play in the game, Baldwin Wallace’s Ashkon Bahrami scored the difference maker, lifting the Yellow Jackets to victory over Heidelberg men’s soccer team 2-1.
Baldwin Wallace’s Michael Brennan knocked in a Andrew Preis rebound for the first score of the game in the 19th minute.
In the 28th minute Heidelberg’s Chris Koczack found the back of the net off a Andres Isea shot to even up the game.
As the rain began to fall in the second half ‘Berg’s boys fired 11 shots, but were unable to connect for a score. Baldwin Wallace took the lead in the last five minutes and never looked back. Heidelberg goalkeeper Matthew Stevens recorded three saves.
