Prep Volleyball Roundup: Mohawk slams Streaks

SYCAMORE – It can’t get much better than a 25-1 game. Mohawk was nearly perfect in game two against Fremont St. Joe allowing the Streaks just a single point. That game was sandwiched in between games of 25-13 and 25-14 in a three-game Warrior challenge.

Mohawk (10-3, 5-1) might not have had an ace up its sleeve, but Charlotte Moes had a bunch in her serve. The senior recorded 10 aces in the victory, to go along with four digs on the defensive end. Kasey Adelsperger had 20 kills for the Warriors and Julie Adelsperger added 10 and Ali Konkle four. Clara Adelsperger tossed up 33 assists.

Taylor McClain’s 13 digs led the defense. MacKenzie Sowers had seven digs.

Calvert stays unbeaten in MAL

FOSTORIA – Haley Felter smashed 12 kills and four blocks, while Amber Perry contributed 10 kills and five blocks as Calvert defeated St. Wendelin in four games, 25-23, 25-11, 19-25, 25-14.

Megan Casale dished out 29 assists for the Senecas, who improved to 10-4, 6-0 in the Midland Athletic League.

Meridith Lucius contributed nine kills and 20 digs for the Senecas.

Rams improve to 11-1

UPPER SANDUSKY – Taylor Graboski lined 15 kills Tuesday, and Upper Sandusky improved to 11-1 this season with a 25-10, 25-15, 25-9 victory over Riverdale.

Jessi Holly added 12 kills for the Rams, who improved to 8-1 in MAL play.

Jenna Holly served five aces in the win, while Graboski added 12 digs.

Findlay turns away TC

FINDLAY – Findlay split a pair of close games to start Tuesday’s match, then pulled away from Columbian for a 25-23, 25-27, 25-15, 25-16 victory.

Haley Sendelbach paced TC (9-8) in the loss with 18 kills, five digs and three aces.

Michaela Sharlow chipped in 18 digs and five kills, Maddi Williams came up with 11 digs and Alyssa Price (2 aces) tallied nine kills and four digs.

Chieftains team up to top Bettsville

BASCOM – Hopewell-Loudon got a double-double from Courtney Burns and a balanced effort from the rest of the team to beat Bettsville 25-9, 25-11, 25-12.

Shelbi Sauber handed out 10 assists while serving six aces and slamming two kills of her own. Kassie Shaver picked up 10 digs defensively and tallied five kills and five aces on the offensive end. Kassie Welly had five digs and five aces while Brooklyn Arbogast added six kills.

Also for Hopewell-Loudon (6-8, 4-2), Lexi Feindel had five digs, three kills and an ace, Marissa Shaver tossed up five assists and Michelle Wilfong and Baleigh Searls each picked up five digs.

Bucks keep pace in NCC

NEW WASHINGTON – Entering the day part of a three-way tie atop the North Central Conference standings, Buckeye Central wasn’t going to be the one to break up the group. The Bucks kept pace with Upper Sandusky and Galion, topping Colonel Crawford 25-8, 25-12, 25-10.

Jenna Delarber slammed 18 kills and Hailey Hildebrand chipped in nine with Kilee Kimmel dishing out 27 assists. Brooke Karl led the defense with 13 digs and Aleesha Siesel had seven. Kimmel, Karl and Sarah Heydinger all had two aces.

Buckeye Central improves to 14-2, 8-1 and plays Galion Thursday.

Old Fort pulls away

OLD FORT – After trading wins in two close games with Lakota, Old Fort pulled away in games three and four and stopped the Raiders 26-28, 25-23, 25-19, 25-17.

Jordan Magers led Old Fort with 12 kills with Samantha Hartsel right behind her with 10. Morgan Kemenah added seven kills and Sydney Clouse six. Allison Adelpserger set them up to the tune of 32 assists.

Defensively, Shelby Bilger had 13 digs to pace the Stockaders (6-7, 3-3). Jordan Magers and Peyton Miller each had eight digs and Caylie Menkhoff had seven.

Carey motors past Seneca East

CAREY – Shelby Seifert drilled 15 kills and three teammates each came up with 10 digs Tuesday in Carey’s 25-16, 25-14, 25-10 Midland Athletic League win over Seneca East.

Seifter (2 aces) also hammered six blocks for the Blue Devils (8-5, 3-3 MAL).

Logan Johnson, Makenzie Wentling and Claire Allison each had the 10 digs, with Johnson serving three aces. Sydney Wentling tossed up 22 assists, and Shelby Kin belted six kills and three blocks.

Kristen Bowerman had seven kills and two blocks for the Tigers (8-9, 3-3) and Cameil Ruffing had four kills and three blocks. Mykayla Ruffing had eight assists and Rachel Bauman dished out three assists with two kills.

Blue Jackets rip Tigers

NORTH BALTIMORE – Adding up the three games together and North Baltimore still didn’t hit 25. New Riegel stayed perfect with a 25-5, 25-11, 25-8 thrashing of the Tigers.

Taylor Arbogast and Lauren Ladd slammed 10 kills to lead the New Riegel offense. Kara Scherger had nine kills while serving 11 aces. Ladd added eight assists and seven digs to her night.

Morgan Noftz handed out 14 assists and served four aces, Brittany Gillig had six digs and Alexis Kieffer had three kills.

New Riegel improves to 14-0, 6-0.
