Prep Roundup: Bellevue takes own invite

BELLEVUE – The Bellevue Redmen stood tall in their own backyard topping the competition in the Bellevue invitational. Twelve teams hit the links on Saturday, including Columbian and Upper Sandusky.

Columbian’s T.J. Wickham was team medalist shooting a 84. Jack Burkes would contribute by shooting a birdie on the par-5 No. 4, carding an 89 on the day. The Tornadoes finished with a 376.

The Rams’ Cody Clifford led Upper Sandusky’s efforts by shooting a 83. Shane Stansbery shot 86 and one stroke behind him was Tommy Martin.

Calvert’s Kwiat and Recker first at NWOCSA

MANSFIELD – Calvert’s second doubles team of Kerrigan Kwiat and Cassie Recker took first place at the NWOCSA Tennis Tournament, beating teams from Fremont St. Joe and Mansfield St. Peter.

That performance led the Senecas to a second-place finish overall, three points behind Sandusky St. Mary’s, which won the event.

The Senecas had a trio of second-place finishers, as first singles player Madison Daniel, second singles player Laura Haley and third singles player CeCi Burtis also split their matches.

The Senecas’ first doubles team of Regina Hoepf and Samantha Gase took third.
