St. Wendelin edges out North Baltimore by 1
FOSTORIA – St. Wendelin and North Balitmore’s top three golfers played each other nearly even. But the Mohawk advantage at the fourth spot proved to be the difference as the Warriors slipped by the Tigers 173-174 in a triangular at Nature Trails that also included Bettsville. The Bobcats shot a 255.
North Baltimore had the match medalist in Jacob Frost who shot a 41. Combined with Garrett Boyer’s 42 and Brock Boyer’s 43, the Tigers had a three shot edge over the Mohawks (5-1). Gabe Walters led St. Wendelin with a 42. No. 1 and 2 Dalton Murray and Peter Campbell, respectively, shot a 43 and 44 respectively.
But St. Wendelin’s Joey DeHaven carded a 44, five shots clear of North Baltimore’s Chad Wright.
Ryan Hager led Bettsville with a 53.
Low, but not enough for TC
MANSFIELD – Columbian was able to post low scores Wednesday at Oaktree in a Northern Ohio League Triangular, with all four scorers breaking 50. The only problem was both Norwalk and Ontario was able to go lower. With three rounds in the 30s, Norwalk took first with 152 points topping Ontario, which finished with 169. Columbian tallied 176.
Jack Burkes led the Tornadoes with a 41 with T.J. Wickham was right behind him with a 42. Eline Widman carded a 45 and Katie Bogner fired a 48.
Norwalk’s Mason Berry and Max Berry shared medalist honors each firing a 37.
Kinley leads Mohawk girls
HARPSTER – Katelyn Kinley fired a 40 at Hickory Grove, leading the Mohawk girls to a 196-267 win over Ridgedale. Chelsea Clinger added a 47, Michaela Cook carded a 51, Heaven Immele shot a 58 and Brooke Weininger tallied a 59.
