Prep Volleyball Roundup: Carey keeps rolling

BUCYRUS – Carey kept its early season surge going, traveling to Bucyrus and sweeping the Redmen, 25-14, 27-25, 25-18.

Shelby Seifert led the way for the Blue Devils, smashing 15 kills and three blocks. Sydney Wentling added 33 assists and four aces for Carey, which stayed unbeaten at 3-0.

Claire Allison had 18 digs for the Blue Devils, while Logan Johnson had eight kills, 12 digs and two aces.

Arbogast lifts NR to 3-0

NEW RIEGEL – Taylor Arbogast slammed New Riegel to a 3-0 start. The junior lined 16 kills as the Blue Jackets dropped Colonel Crawford in three, 25-10, 25-15, 25-8.

Arbogast also picked up 23 digs to lead the defense. Lauren Ladd chipped in 12 kills while dishing out eight assists. Kara Scherger tallied 19 digs and nine kills. Morgan Noftz dished out 26 assists while serving up three aces.

Also for New Riegel, Brittany Gillig had 11 digs and Natalie Reinhart had three aces.

Rams ruin Mohawk’s opener

SYCAMORE – Two-time district champion Mohawk opened up its season Saturday against Upper Sandusky, but the Rams spoiled the opening day party, topping Mohawk 25-14, 26-24, 25-20.

Taylor Graboski paced the Upper Sandusky (2-0) attack with 21 kills. Jessi Holly added 10 and Molly Owens nine. Emma Smith dished out 40 assists.

On the defensive end, Graboski led with four blocks and four Rams tallied 10 or more digs, led by Jenna Holly’s 16 and Graboski’s 14.

Kasey Adelsperger led Mohawk with eight kills while Julie Adelsperger and Mya Morris each lined seven. Clara Adelsperger finished with 29 assists and 20 digs. Taylor McClain picked up 26 digs.

Seneca East splits opening day

ATTICA – Seneca East split a season-opening triangular, beating New London and falling to Willard.

The Tigers topped the Wildcats 25-19, 22-25, 25-21, and fell to the Flashes 25-15, 25-20.

Kristen Bowerman led Seneca East with 18 kills and four blocks. Cameil Ruffing added eight kills and two blocks. Holly Border paced the defense with 17 digs.

Also for Seneca East, Rachel Bauman had 13 assists and five aces. Mykayla Ruffing had three kills and 11 assists.

Old?Fort falls in opener

OLD?FORT?- Clyde spoiled Old?Fort’s season opener, topping the Stockaders 25-17, 25-19, 25-12.

Shelby Bilger had 28 digs for Old Fort. Samantha Hartsel, Sara Bell, and Darby?Walker each led Old Fort with three kills.
