Prep Roundup: Calvert girls, boys third at NWOCSA
St. Wendelin girls take first
OREGON – Sandusky St. Mary’s Jenna Hinds won Monday’s NWOCSA cross country meet, finishing in 21:21, nine seconds better than Calvert’s Olivia Smith, who finished second. The Senecas’ Morgan Smith took fourth in 22:25, helping Calvert to a third-place finish with 82 points.
St. Wendelin’s girls won the event with 45 points. Their individual results were not provided.
On the boys’ side, Mansfield St. Peter’s Sean Stockmaster took first in 18:08, while John Brodman was the top Calvert runner, finishing seventh in 19:37.
Sandusky St. Mary’s won the event with 55 points, while Calvert was third with 91 points and St. Wendelin was sixth with 117 points.
Woodmore spoils Mohawk soccer’s season opener
ELMORE – Brooke Weinandy knocked in a second-half penalty kick for Mohawk, but it wasn’t enough as the Warriors dropped their season opener to Woodmore, 4-1.
Woodmore out-shot Mohawk 25-2 in the contest. Ally Weinandy made 21 saves in goal for the Warriors.
Jordan Williams, Cailey Willhardt, Courteney Buchanan and Maddy Heinz scored Woodmore’s goals.
