Prep Roundup: Buckeye Central drops Crestline in NCC?opener

NEW WASHINGTON – Buckeye Central downed Crestline 25-12, 25-7, 25-7 in the North Central Conference opener Tuesday.

Kilee Kimmel served seven aces and Jenna Delarber drilled 12 kills and three blocks for the Bucks (2-0).

Emily Weithman handed out 15 assists for Buckeye Central and Brooke Karl had seven digs.

Rams roll over Bucyrus

BUCYRUS – Emma Smith and Jessi Holly each nearly had a double-double Tuesday in Upper Sandusky’s 25-9, 25-5, 25-11 North Central Conference domination of Bucyrus.

Smith turned in 28 assists and eight digs and Holly had 11 kills, eight digs and three aces for the Rams (3-0, 1-0 NCC).

Taylor Graboski and Kalene Johnson both hammered nine kills, Molly Owens served six aces, Madison Bianchi drilled five aces and Jenna Holly had eight digs.

Warriors take out Pleasant

MARION – Julie Adelsperger turned in a double-double and Clara Adelsperger handed out 30 assists Tuesday in Mohawk’s 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 win over Marion Pleasant.

Julie Adelsperger registered 19 digs, 14 kills and three blocks while Clara Adelsperger added six digs for the Warriors (2-1).

Kasey Adelsperger chipped in 12 kills and four blocks, Taylor McClain came up with 19 digs, Mya Morris added six digs and five kills, Mackenzie Sowers tallied eight digs and three aces and Sheyanne Wilhelm lined four kills.

Mohawks get trounced

McCOMB – McComb rolled up St. Wendelin 25-15, 25-7, 25-9 Tuesday.

Mikayla Gilliland’s nine digs and Allie Rutter’s five digs and four kills led the Mohawks (0-2) in the loss.

Chloe Reiter added three assists, and Victoria Walter, Olivia Zimmerman and Kamryn Troike each lined three blocks.

Emerick helps Rams soccer stay perfect

UPPER SANDUSKY – Taylor Emerick snapped a scoreless tie with a pair of second-half goals Tuesday to key Upper Sandusky’s 3-1 win over North Central Ohio Soccer Association foe Ada.

Cole East put the Bulldogs (0-4, 0-1 NCOSA) on top early, but Aaron Pirc tied the game for Upper Sandusky (4-0, 1-0) off an assist from Emerick.

Emerick’s two goals came off an assist from Brad Roeder and a direct kick.

Clay Musgrave stopped 12 shots for the Rams, who out-shot Ada 24-13. Tate Anspach had 21 saves for the Bulldogs.

Tornadoes suffer first loss

MOUNT BLANCHARD – Chad Pever scored a hat trick Tuesday as Riverdale doubled up previously unbeaten Columbian 4-2 in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener.

Each team scored an unassisted goal in the first five minutes, but TC’s Hunter Stark converted a pass from Spencer Pauly into a goal in the 17th minute for a 2-1 lead.

Pever knotted the game with a penalty kick in the 38th minute, then booted home another penalty kick in the 49th minute to put the Falcons ahead.

He tacked on an unassisted goal in the 63 minute for Riverdale (1-2, 1-0 NCOSA).

Garrett Bean put the Tornadoes (3-1, 0-1) up 1-0 in the second minute, with Riverdale’s Jackson Hankins tying it up three minutes later.

Austin Clark stopped seven shots for Riverdale, and Columbian’s Josh Gibson had five. Columbian out-shot the Falcons 13-12.

… as do Upper Sandusky girls

DELAWARE – Three Buckeye Valley players each scored twice Tuesday in a 6-0 win over Upper Sandusky, handing the Rams their first loss.

Maddie Oberle and Amber McBean each scored twice for the Barons in the first half.

Alyssa Spencer found the net twice in the second half, while Marisa Sheppard stopped seven shots.

Keely Stover had 12 saves for the Rams (3-1-0).

Fostoria shut out by St. Joe

FREMONT – Fremont St. Joe got a sweepover Fostoria, 5-0, Tuesday.

The Streaks’ Tricia Reinhart defeated Erica Moore, 6-0, 6-1, while Maison Collins topped Jessica Kauffman, 6-1, 6-0. St. Joe’s Laura Baez topped Sabra Tate, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, The Streaks’ Ashley Burns teamed with Daniela Baez to beat Autumn Affholder and Jillian Smith, 6-0, 6-0.

In second doubles, Lillian Cool and Kelsey Nevius beat Fostoria’s Destinie Farris and Ellen Guan, 6-0, 6-0.
