Moyer to play in Slow Pitch Showdown

OKLAHOMA CITY – Mohawk High graduate Kyle Moyer will play today in the second annual Slow Pitch Showdown at the General Tire World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City.

The 1999 Mohawk graduate is scheduled to start at first base for the USA Men’s Slow Pitch Future’s Team all-stars against the USA Softball Men’s Slow Pitch National Team.

ESPN will telecast the game Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Futures team is for players age 32 and younger.

Moyer, who represents Easton on the Futures team, is one of three Ohioans on the squad. The other two are Dave Kessler of Cincinnati, representing Louisville Slugger, and Scott Zaciewski of Toledo, representing Reebok.
