n The second annual Swing For A Cure For Alex, which benefits United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, is Aug. 17 at Seneca Hills with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $50 per person or $200 per four-person team, which includes golf, cart and lunch. Baumann Auto Group is sponsoring a hole-in-one at No. 18, with the prize being $10,000 toward the purchase of a new vehicle. Players must register by July 29. n Steve Holman shot a 39 for men and Gayle Johnson had a 43 for the women in taking the two low gross honors in the Green Hills Tuesday Couples League. The low net honors went to Bruce Baker (33) for the men and Lou Ann Burroughs (34) for the women.

n Nick Fry leads Jason Hoffbauer 27 1/2-26 1/2 for the lead in the Clover Club League at Clinton Heights. Dave Gase is third with 25 1/2 points. Hoffbauer shot a 36 for the low gross an Joe Blust’s 31 took low net. Prizes went to Tiffinie Loesser (long putt No. 13), Josh Predieri (closest in three No. 17, long drive No. 16), Mike Hitchcock (closest in two No. 18) and Mike Grothaus (closest in two No. 11).

n Bud Witsman and Denny Krupp shot a 34 to win the Jeffrey Jewelry Monday Night Two-Man Best-Ball League at Seneca Hills. Prizes went to Krupp (closest in two No. 4) and Greg Tiell (long putt No. 9).
