Prep Tennis: Columbian sweeps Rams

One set was all that Upper Sandusky managed to win against Columbian, as the Torndoes swept the Rams off the court 5-0. Singles victories were obtained by Nick Gaietto over Jacob Courtright 7-5, 6-3, Braden Kuhn over Seth Sprang 6-1, 6-2 and Austin Crabtree over Tyler Rice 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles action, Mason McCool and John Obringer teamed to beat Danial Maltsbarger and Evan Scheck 6-2, 6-2. Brandon Berry and Hunter Stark beat Drew Barth and Aaron Pirc, 6-1, 6-7, 6-0.

Warnement and Kwiat team for Calvert’s lone win

MARION – Ian Warnement and Daniel Kwiat won the No. 1 doubles match against Marion Pleasant’s Ian Kieffer and Cameron Osborne 6-0, 6-2. However, that was the only victory the Senecas could muster, as Pleasant beat Calvert 4-1.

Jacob Lehner and Allen Zhang won the day’s other doubles match 6-2, 6-2 over Mark Fowler and Phillip Boes.

In singles action, Christian Vaflor beat Jack Burtis 6-2, 6-1 while David Schuring blanked Danny George 6-0, 6-0. The Spartans won third singles match via forfeit.
