Bobcats fall to Warriors
BETTSVILLE – Toledo Emmanuel Christian took advantage of some control problems from Bettsville starter Melissa Harrison as she walked 13 batters as the Warriors scratched out 12 runs off four hits as the Bobcats fell 12-2.
Maranda Bisson had the lone hit of the game for Bettsville. Abby Orwig and Skyler Eckhardt scored the Bobcats’ runs.
Adelspergers awesome in Mohawk win
BUCYRUS – It took Mohawk four innings to get going, but once it did, it didn’t stop. After spotting Wynford a 5-0 lead, the Warrior offense got going in the fourth with a pair of Adelspergers leading the charge. Julie and Clara Adelsperger combined for eight hits (including a 5-for-5 day for Clara), six RBIs and five runs scored as Mohawk surged past Wynford, 17-8.
Each had a pair of doubles and Julie homered to help her own cause, as she picked up her second win of the season in the circle.
The Adelspergers weren’t the only ones pounding the ball for Mohawk (2-0). Mackenzie Sowers had a pair of base hits, drove in three runs and scored twice. Hannah Kieffer also sent one over the fence and scored three times on the afternoon. Allison Price, Cambria Kohlenberg, Taylor McClain and Brooke Weinandy all tripled with Kohlenberg and Weinandy each picking up RBIs. McClain scored three runs.
Ally Weinandy added a double and an RBI.
Carey KO’s BC with 1-2 punch
CAREY – Hannah Draper had a solid day at the plate and Sydney Wentling fanned seven Thursday in Carey’s 8-2 win over Buckeye Central.
Draper went 3 for 4 with two runs, two RBI and two doubles for the Blue Devils (3-1).
Chelsea Schlack also went 3 for 4 and knocked in two runs, and Katie Driggers scored twice and singled.
Morgan Wurm (2-2) took the loss for the Buckettes (3-3), but singled twice.
Sierra Hanes tripled and Kendra Schultz doubled.
Devilish first inning for St. Wendelin
ARLINGTON – Arlington wasted little time taking control of its game against St. Wendelin. The Red Devils plated eight runs in the first inning and cruised to a 12-4 win.
Meghan Reiter had a hit, scored and drove in three runs for St. Wendelin. Beth Hay had two hits and an RBI. Edy Mowrey and Victoria Walter each had two hits and each scored a run. Sammie Digby also crossed the plate for the Mohawks.
Trojans inch away from TC
FINDLAY – Findlay built a 5-0 lead, then broke a tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth Thursday for a 6-5 win over Columbian.
Columbian rallied for four runs in the fourth and tied the game in the top of the sixth before the Trojans (1-0) pulled away.
Sarah Berecz went 3 for 4 with a run for the Tornadoes (0-2). Alyssa Price drove in two runs and singled.
