Blue Jackets get back to winning

NORTH BALTIMORE – Taylor Arbogast hammered a homer and drove in five runs Monday as New Riegel battled past North Baltimore 10-7 in Midland Athletic League play.

The Blue Jackets (11-5, 4-1 MAL) trailed 3-2 after the third inning, but sandwiched two-run innings around a four-run burst in the fifth to vault ahead for good.

Arbogast went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs to for New Riegel, which bounced back after having an eight-game win streak end Friday in a loss to Mohawk.

Taylor Kirian (10-5) got the win despite hitting two batters and being battered for 12 hits. Only three of the seven runs she allowed were earned.

Hailey Theis also went 3 for 4 and doubled. Kara Scherger scored three times, tripled and singled and Leah Bouillon doubled.

Cheyenne Hernandez (6-3) took the loss for the Tigers (8-6, 3-1).

Megan Wright ended 4 for 4 with two RBIs, Haleigh Fleck scored twice and singled twice and Ricci Emahiser scored twice and singled.

St. Joe gets past Mohawk

SYCAMORE – Fremont St. Joe turned away Mohawk 6-4 Monday in Midland Athletic League play.

Be Reardon got the win for the Crimson Streaks, fanning four and scattering eight hits. She also singled and drove in a run.

Mackenzie Sowers doubled twice and scored two runs for the Warriors. Clara Adelsperger added two singles and an RBI.

Julie Adelsperger suffered the loss.

Rams drop NCC game

BUCYRUS – Bucyrus held Upper Sandusky to just two hits Monday in an 8-1 North Central Conference win.

Katie Taylor and Sydney Piecha both singled for the Rams in the loss.

Allie Smith was saddled with the defeat.
