Warriors boot Rams
ATTICA – Taylor Graboski had a big night Saturday. It just wasn’t big enough.
Ontario overcome the Upper Sandusky junior’s monster double-double to upset the top-seeded Rams 51-49 at the Division III sectional finals at Seneca East.
Graboski topped everyone with 20 points and 26 rebounds, but had just four points in the opening period when Ontario raced out to a 15-8 lead.
Logan Kinley and Alex Cameron each added eight points for the Rams. Graboski also blocked four shots and Allison Snyder dished five assists.
The Warriors got 13 points apiece from Maribeth Tagg and Kim Barnhill. Jayde Niss chipped in 10 points and Emily Wood (8) and Anna Hairston (7) combined for 15.
Surge in third carries Woodmore
PEMBERVILLE – Woodmore gained a bit of breathing room in the third quarter Saturday en route to beating Lakota 43-31 in a Division III sectional final at Eastwood.
The Wildcats entered halftime up 24-20, but doubled up the Raiders 10-5 in the third period to gain momentum.
Allie Wank tossed in 11 points for Woodmore and Jordan Williams scored 10.
Katie Park’s 11 points sparked Lakota and Stephanie Miller and Morgan Mowry added six each.
