Hudacek shines on senior day

Rachel Hudacek broke her own school record in one race and figured in two other wins on senior day Saturday as Columbian swept both halves of a triangular with Marion Harding and Calvert.

Hudacek lowered the Columbian record in the 100 free to 56.25 seconds for one victory, helping the Tornadoes storm past Calvert 68-22. Harding scored four points.

The senior also helped TC take the 200 medley relay (2:04.6), and captured the 50 free (26.39).

Lindsay Young, Sarah Hudacek and Natalie Howard filled out the relay.

Tornadoes Abby Burton, Lydia Vallery, Megan Murphy and Jordan Jarrett added a win in the 400 free relay (4:34.14).

Columbian’s other individual wins came from Jarrett in the 200 free (2:21.09), Howard in the 100 fly (1:04.54) and 100 back (1:08.38), Sarah Hudacek in the 500 free (5:50.72) and Alexis Desjardins in the 100 breast (1:26.4).

Meanwhile, Columbian’s boys scored 68 points for their victory, with Harding downing Calvert 28-2 for second.

The Tornadoes won the 200 medley relay (1:52.99), 200 free relay (1:39.26) and 400 free relay (4:34.14).

Chris Gates, Braden Kuhn, Nate Ramsdell and Isaac Lewis swam the 200 medley relay. Justin Schwartz, Lewis, Gates and Kuhn handled the 200 free relay. Ramsdell, Jacob English, Schwartz and Adam Young competed in the 400 free relay.

Gates added victories in the 200 free (1:56.83) and 500 free (5:13.95), Young took the 200 IM (2:26.85) and 100 back (1:09.98), Lewis won the 50 free (24.9), Ramsdell captured the 100 fly (1:03.14), and Kuhn claimed the 100 free (54.23) and 100 breast (1:12.25).
