YOUTH BASKETBALL: The fifth annual Hopewell-Loudon basketball camp will be May 29-31 at the high school in both gyms. Grades 1-7 will be 8:30-11:30 a.m. and grades 8-12 will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost of the camp is $30 for grades 1-7. Return the registration and payment by either May 3 or by May 6 if possible to guarantee camp orders (t-shirt/etc.) are on time. Late registrations will be accepted on site, but camp gifts may be late or unavailable. Coach Roger Jury and members of the Chieftain Basketball staff will conduct the camp. Present players and alumni may be available to assists. Athletes in upper grades will spend a portion of the camp practicing team concepts and fundamentals for summer league, possible shoot-outs, team camps, etc.

JV SOFTBALL: Old Fort swept Hopewell-Loudon 10-0 and 19-12 in a doubleheader Saturday. Brianna Factor allowed just four hits over five innings, striking out three and not issuing a walk for Old Fort in the first game. Breanna Hoerig, Factor, Katie Reiter and Kiana Bates all managed multiple hits for OF. Factor and Hoerig both compiled three hits. Hoerig had four hits in the second game. OF had 20 hits as Hoerig, Madison Nesselhauf, Reiter, Factor and Anya Huffman each had multiple hits. Nesselhauf also had four hits for OF. Factor was the winning pitcher.

RESULTS POLICY: Coaches turning in results for any sport are reminded to use full names for all athletes. Handwriting must be legible. Photos of scorebooks must be in focus and well lit. Records should be included. Results for high school and college events must be turned in that day by 9:30 p.m. All other events must be turned in by 8 p.m. Turn in results via E-mail at sports@advertiser-tribune.com, fax at (419) 447-3274, telephone at (419) 448-3250 or in the drop box by the paper’s front door at 320 Nelson St. Results must be turned in the day of the event. Depending on time constraints, games and events turned in which do not include full names or are turned in late may not have recaps written about them. Results which are unreadable will not be included in the paper.

GOLF: The 2019 Clinton Heights Baumann Group Monday Night Ladies Two-Person Scramble League begins May 20, with 4-6 p.m. tee times. The Fun Night/Free practice is May 13. The organizational meeting is May 6 at 6 p.m. at Clinton Heights. Sign up at the clubhouse or call (419) 447-8863.

WRESTLING: Heidelberg’s Seiberling Gymnasium will host an Ohio A Wrestling Tournament today for all ages, with proceeds going to disabled veterans. Cost is $20. Check in at 9 a.m. with wrestling starting at 10 a.m. For more information, call Larry Rump at (419) 455-5229.
