BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL: Gibsonburg slipped past New Riegel 54-51 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division action Friday night. Jake Foster poured in 26 points for the Golden Bears (2-6, 1-3), while Addison Weaver chipped in nine. For New Riegel (1-5, 1-3), Darek Feindel posted 19 points and eight boards, while Chris Acree netted nine points. Bryce Hohman tallied four steals and four assists. Neither team were that effective at the free throw line, going a combined 11 of 26.
BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Seneca East beat Upper Sandusky 73-66. Andrew Kalb’s 25 points paced the victors, Jake Forehand scored 11 and Brock Ferres had nine. Jaidyn Thiel scored 16 points for the Rams, Cole Sowers had 15, Curtis Smith netted 12 and Cade Adams tallied 11.
n Nolan Beeker scored 14, and Calvert upended St. Mary 35-25.
n Old Fort topped Danbury 54-34 as Ryan Miller popped in 16 points and Collin Nutter added 12 for the Stockaders.
n Carey held off Liberty-Benton 54-51.
n Tyler Haman and Landen Snyder both scored 14 points to lead Mohawk past Wynford 57-48.
n Gibsonburg downed New Riegel 45-29. Hayden Hohman scored 10 points for the Blue Jackets.
