GOLF: The Teresa Kessler Big Cup Scramble scheduled for today has been postponed to Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. at Fostoria Country Club due to impending weather. Cost is $200. To enter, call (419) 934-0227.

n The 10th annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Outing/Fundraiser has been postponed until Sept. 16 at 8 a.m.

HOPEWELL-LOUDON: Hopewell-Loudon appreciates the effort and sacrifices the local First Responders, EMS, Veterans and those currently serving in the military make each day. In an effort to show appreciation to these men and women, along with their families, will be given free entry to the football game Friday. H-L also encourages those in attendance to show their appreciation as they are recognized in the stands after the first quarter.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Seneca East’s eighth grade topped Mohawk 26-24, 25-23. For the Tigers, Abby Sturgill had five aces, two kills and five assists, while Jaelyn Barnwell ended with four kills and an ace.

n Seneca East’s seventh grade upended Mohawk 22-25, 25-22, 25-20 as Mia Holmes collected three assists, two kills and three aces for SE, while Caroline Kagy added seven kills and Abbi Drosky finished with four kills and a pair of blocks.

n Gibsonburg’s eighth grade beat New Riegel 25-19, 24-26, 25-11. For NR, Ella Wank had six aces and six digs, while Lauren Gabel added three aces and four digs and Mileah Jones finished with four digs and four kills.

n New Riegel’s seventh grade topped Gibsonburg 25-21, 25-19 as Katie Dryfuse tallied five digs, four kills and a pair of aces for the Blue Jackets, while Alayna Schalk added 10 aces, four digs and a pair of assists and Lexi Frankart made two digs.

n Danbury’s eighth grade defeated Old Fort. Brooke Withrow had 12 kills, while Cameran Cleveland added five aces for the Stockaders.

n Old Fort’s seventh grade downed Danbury 29-31, 25-11, 25-22 as Audra Miller lined seven kills and Addyson Gillmore ended with 10 aces for OF.

n Calvert’s eighth grade topped Sandusky St. Mary 25-14, 25-13. Bradleigh Meier had five aces, two assists, two kills and two digs for the Senecas. They also got three kills and nine assists from Lydia Ardner, two aces and two digs by Madyson Deats, three aces, five kills and a pair of blocks from Kendal Krzyzak and three assists and nine kills by Hannah Miller.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s eighth grade beat Liberty-Benton 13-25, 25-21, 25-15 as Shea Harper had 12 aces and five kills for H-L, while Grace Hoover tacked on four aces and five assists, Paige Hoover slammed two kills and Jada Breidenbach ended with three assists.

n Liberty-Benton’s seventh grade topped Hopewell-Loudon 25-20, 14-25, 25-23. Isabelle Beidelschies collected 16 aces and a pair of kills, while Kylee Malagon had three aces and two kills, Lydia Walters added six assists and two kills and anna Daniel finished with two aces and three kills.

JV BOYS GOLF: Clyde beat Columbian 207-241 at Mohawk Country Club. For the Fliers, Jacob Lee and Ryan Matherne shot twin 51s, while Garrett Wiseman added a 52 and Gavin Gill ended with a 53. For the Tornadoes, Gabe Reyes led the way with a 43, while Bryan Edler shot a 62, Jimmy Skidmore added a 67 and Hayden Carter shot a 69.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Mohawk beat Upper Sandusky 25-18, 25-23. Marah Gillig collected eight kills, eight assists and six digs for the Warriors, while Catherine Klopp added eight kills, Emma Thiery tallied seven kills and five digs and Kennedy Cleveland finished with 13 assists.

n Seneca East upended New Riegel 11-25, 26-24, 25-21. Jordan Queen tallied three kills, four blocks and a pair of aces for the Tigers, while Hannah Bisignano had 17 assists and two aces and Lexi Cheek added nine kills, eight digs and a pair of aces.

n Clyde topped Fremont Ross 25-19, 25-13.

n Liberty-Benton topped Hopewell-Loudon 25-19, 24-26, 26-24. Elizabeth Wells collected nine kills and five blocks for H-L, while Hope Kreais added five kills, Taylor Sours smacked four kills and Brynn Carrel recorded 17 assists.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Fremont Ross beat Clyde 25-10, 25-19.

n Hopewell-Loudon beat Liberty-Benton 25-12, 25-15. Bri Landers had eight aces, Allie Milligan added five kills, Chloe Malagon made five digs and Hannah Borer dished 13 assists.
