RESULTS POLICY: Coaches turning in results for any sport are reminded to use full names for all athletes. Handwriting must be legible. Photos of scorebooks must be in focus and well lit. Records should be included. Results for high school and college events must be turned in that day by 9:30 p.m. All other events must be turned in by 8 p.m. Results can be turned in via E-mail at, fax at (419) 447-3274, telephone at (419) 448-3250 or in the drop box by the paper’s front door at 320 Nelson St. Results must be turned in the day of the event. Depending on time constraints, games and events turned in which do not include full names or are turned in late may not have recaps written about them. Results which are unreadable will not be included in the paper.

TIFFIN CARNIVAL: Due to time and space constraints, results of the elementary races from Saturday’s Tiffin Cross Country Carnival will be published in Monday’s edition.

GOLF: The Teresa Kessler Big Cup Scramble scheduled for today has been postponed to Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. at Fostoria Country Club due to impending weather. Cost is $200. To enter, call (419) 934-0227.

* The 10th annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Outing/Fundraiser has been postponed until Sept. 16 at 8 a.m.

JV FOOTBALL: Kesean Jackson ran for two touchdowns and Luke Busdecker threw for two more to lead Columbian past Norwalk 26-19. Busdecker’s TD tosses went to Alex Smith and Bo Wagner. Michael Eisenhower also caught a conversion pass, and Andrew Conley picked off a pass.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Calvert breezed through the day to capture the inaugural Crestline JV Volleyball Tournament. The Senecas beat Mansfield St. Peter’s 25-5, 25-9 and Crestline 25-4, 25-9 before dropping Madison 25-12, 25-10 in the title match. Erin Wagner paced the Senecas with 47 assists and 15 aces, and Leah Renninger hammered 12 kills, eight aces and four solo blocks. Maddie Schumacher chipped in 11 kills and 10 digs and Kate Laney belted 13 kills.

* Monroeville beat Seneca East 25-13, 25-7. Lexi Cheek gave Seneca East two kills and five digs.

* Hopewell-Loudon beat Fostoria 25-14, 25-14 to improve to 9-0. Brynn Carrel (2 aces) tossed up 17 assists for Chieftains, Hailey Welly (2 aces) slammed six kills, Hope Kreais lined four kills and Taylor Sours drilled three kills.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Kelsey Shiley smacked nine aces and five kills and Mara Waire drilled six aces and five kills to help Calvert beat Carey 26-24, 25-18 and Van Buren 25-10, 25-14. Samantha Wellman lined seven more aces for the Senecas.
