Records should be included. Results for high school and college events must be turned in that day by 9:30 p.m. All other events must be turned in by 8 p.m. Results can be turned in via E-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, fax at (419) 447-3274, telephone at (419) 448-3250 or in the drop box by the paper’s front door at 320 Nelson St. Results must be turned in the day of the event. Depending on time constraints, games and events turned in which do not include full names or are turned in late may not have recaps written about them. Results which are unreadable will not be included in the paper.
PREP GOLF: Luke Graham fired a 40 to lead Hopewell-Loudon past Elmwood 173-195. Cody Balliet added a 42 for the Chieftains, Owen Schumm shot a 45 and Tyson Swanagan and Layne Myers each had a 46. Devin Falter (49) also played for H-L. Mason Greene’s 47 led the Royals, with Carter Taft and Austin Minich each adding a 49 and Paul Meyer shooting a 50. Kobe Shank (59) and Jonah Houtz (64) also played for Elmwood.
GOLF: Dave Zigler and Bo Yani won the last five weeks and play Dog Chaviler and Marty Ward in the playoffs, while Kevin Guth and Scott Reineck play Larry Miller and Larry Elchert in the other playoff. Prizes went to Jake Molyet (closest in two No. 1), Reineck (closest in two No. 4) and Dick Hull (long putt No. 7).
n Tom Ardner, Wade Burger, Jon Eakin and Ron Jones shot 9 under to win the Friday Senior League at Clinton Heights. Ted Rombach, Jim Radcliff, Mike Hampp and Jim Hoffbauer shot 6 under to end second. Prizes went to Dick Best (closest in one No. 11), Gary Kroeger (closest in two No. 13) and Rombach (closest in three No. 17).
n Mark Smith and Paul VanHorn won the North Division with 37 1/2 points and Derek Lewis and Brad Schreieber won the South Division with 38 1/2 points in the Clinton Heights Baumann Two-Man Scramble Late League. Brent Hemminger and Dave Pitchford won a skin on No. 6. The North Division playoffs feature Jim Peer and Jim Myers facing Rick Steiner and Jim Reinhart, and Doyle Magers and Mike Hoffman playing Smith and VanHorn. The South Division playoffs have Jeff Shuey and Derick McGee against Lewis and Schreiber, and Denny Lofay and Nate Lofay facing Jim Birch and Dave Bush.
n Adam Smith and Mark Miller beat Fritz Smith and John Englehart 22-18 in a semifinal match in the Wednesday Night Catholic League at Seneca Hills, with Mark Dirckson and Jason Herbert beating Jack Felton and John Anderson 21-19 in the other. The winners play Wednesday for the title.
n Rob Ritzler and Tim Ritzler beat the team of Ken Gooding and Aaron Gooding in one semifinal of the Thursday Night K of C League, while Zach Gaietto and Jacob Yoshimoto beat Terry Nussbaum and Don Hoepf in the other. The winners will meet for the title.
