GOLF: The New Riegel Athletic Boosters will host the Teresa Kessler Big Cup scramble Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. at the Fostoria Country Club. All holes will have 8-inch cups except for par 3s. All profits will go the Teresa Kessler Scholarship Fund.
n Tiffin-Seneca United Way is hosting its 6th annual outing at Clinton Heights Sept. 8. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $200 for a team, $100 for a hole sponsor and $500 for a major sponsor. The outing includes golf, cart, lunch and two drink tickets per person. There will be door prizes, hole contests, skins, mulligans and a 50/50 drawing. Larry and CJ Kisabeth, golf outing chairs are looking for major sponsors, hole sponsors, door prize sponsors and teams. n Kevin Guth and Scott Reinick won the first five weeks of the Baumann Old Fort Ex-Hi League with 54 points. Ryan Chaviler and Marty Ward won the second five weeks with 67 points. Prize holes went to Dick Hull (closest second shot No. 12), Dave Zigler (closest third shot No. 14) and Skip Halcomb (longest putt No. 17).
n Prize winners for the Seneca Hills Tuesday Morning Ladies League were Carol Shook (longest putt No. 1) and Carla Siebenaller (closest to pin in one No. 6 and closest to pin in three No. 7).
n Doug Tanner shot a 38 for the low gross and Ryan Depinet had the low net with a 32 in the Tuesday Night PJ Brickhouse League at Loudon Meadows. Prize winners were Joe Smith (long putt No. 5), Dennis Walter (closest to pin in two No. 1) and Mike Arbogast (most 1-putts).
n The Wednesday Senior League at Clinton Heights was won by the team of Dick Hull, Mike Hampp, Bob Shultz and Lou Greislding at 6 under. In second at 5 under was Don Kin, Dave Seislove, Ron Troxell and Mike Windau. Prize holes went to Charlie Reinbolt (closest in one), Rex Mellott (closest in two), Hampp (closest in three) and Dave Welly (long putt).
n After two weeks of the Amvets League at Seneca Hills, Brian Krauss and Herb Love lead with 25 ½ points. Second place is Dan Coppes and Bob Reinhart with 24 points. Prize hole winners were Howard Elchert (long putt No. 10 and closest in two No. 11) and Frank Michniak (closest to pond in one No. 15).
OHSAA MEETING: All fall sports athletes and parents for Old Fort, there will be a mandatory OHSAA meeting July 31 at 7 p.m. in the high school commons. They will be implementing electronic forms that will replace all paperwork that has needed to be filled out at meetings in previous years. Plan to attend this meeting.
YOUTH FOOTBALL: There is a Youth League Football draft and Youth Cheerleading registration Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hedges-Boyer Park in the shelter by the D-league baseball field at the base of the circle. FALL BASEBALL: The Tiffin Cal Ripken D League is taking sign-ups for the 12th year of fall baseball. This league is for 10 year olds, who turn 11 before May 1 2019 and for 11 and 12 year olds, but did not turn 13 before May 1 of this year. This is open to any individuals whether they are boys or girls who live in town or county no matter where they live, they can play. The fee is $60 for one player, but there is a discount for multiple players in the same household. Balks, dropped third strikes and leadoffs are in play for this league.
