RUNNING: The Columbian High cross country team’s Run For Your Stripes 5K is July 4 at 9 a.m. Registration runs that day at 7:30-8:45 a.m. Runners can register in front of the school at 300 S. Monroe St., where the race begins.

GOLF: Seneca East’s girls basketball team will host its inaugural golf outing July 22 at Clinton Heights Golf Course. The event tees off with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Four-person teams can sign up by emailing Jarron Reesman at or Don Vogt at Cost is a $200 for each team ($50 per person), and there will be hole prizes and a long putt contest. All proceeds go to helping buy new home uniforms for next season.

n The annual FACT (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment) outing, sponsored by the Armes Family Cancer Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital, is July 29 at Loudon Meadows Golf Club in Fostoria at 9:15 a.m. Cost is $50 per person or $200 per four-person team and includes 18 holes, cart and lunch. n The Baumann Old Fort Ex-Hi League is led by the team of Kevin Guth and Scott Reinick with 54 points after five weeks. Ryan Chaviler and Marty Ward follow in with 49. Prizes were won by Mike Haar (closest in three on No. 3) and Larry Miller (closest in two on No. 7; long putt on No. 9),

n The squad of Frank Michniak, Larry Wilson, Harry Smith and Ernie shot even par to win Monday’s Retirees League at Seneca Hills. Prizes went to Dutch Edeburn (long putt on No. 12), Michniak (closest to pin on No. 13) and Dave Combs (low gross of 33).

n The second session of the Phat Cakes Par Tee League started June 21 with Jason Galitza and Ray Nutter finishing with 22 points each. Len Gosche posted a low gross of 39. Skins were won by Mike Gibson. Prizes were awarded to Nutter (pin shot on No. 11), Galitza (proximity shot on No. 12), Tim Cessna (pin shot on No. 14), Ron Schramm (long putt on No. 15), Gibson (long putt on No. 17) and Tony Consolo (long drive on No. 18).
