GOLF: The Seneca Hills Amvets League is to start May 16. All teams from last season must contact Bob Grothaus at (567) 207-5651 to sign up for this season. The kickoff dinner at the Amvets is to be at 6 p.m. May 9. Substitutions and new players must also check in if you wish to play. Play starts at 9 a.m. and is to be two-man teams.

n Two teams tied for first in the Friday Senior League at Clinton Heights. The team of Don Kin, Len Farr, Craig Neifer, and Dave Prunell tied at 6 under with the team of Ted Rombach, Dave Seislove, Don Hammer and Rex Mellott. Prizes were awarded to Wade Burger (closest in one on No. 11), Rombach (closest in two on No. 15; long put on No. 10) and Jim Sherwood (closest in three on No. 17).

n The team of Whitey Florence, Jeff Lang, Steve Bernard and Ken Waldock won Bump’s Traveling Group at Valley View Friday with an 11-under par. Next Tuesday’s scramble is to be at Green Hills Golf Club in Clyde at 10 a.m. Draw for team is to begin at 9:45 a.m. For additional information contact (419) 934-0227.

PARENT MEETING: There is an informational meeting for parents/guardians of any player entering seventh or eighth grade interested in playing football at Tiffin Middle School May 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. YOUTH BASEBALL: Tiffin Babe Ruth will hold a player selection draft today at 1 p.m at the Vic Wurm Field at Hedges-Boyer Park. Qualified players must be ages 13-16 and may not turn 17 before May 1.

JV BASEBALL: Perkins topped Columbian 3-2. Michael Eisenhower was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for TC, while Tandon Lemmon was also 2 for 3. Caleb Hoyda, Michael McDole and Noah Gibson all singled.

VARSITY SOFTBALL: Buckeye Central lost 11-7 to Northern 10 Athletic Conference foe Bucyrus.

CAL RIPKEN: The Tiffin Cal Ripken League seeks 11- and 12-year-old players. Must be 11 before May 1 and not 13 before May 1. They play with balks, leadoffs and dropped third strikes. Call Jeff Hohman at (419) 448-7321 to sign up on a team.
