CAL RIPKEN: The Tiffin Cal Ripken League is still taking 11 and 12 year old players. Must be 11 before May 1 and not 13 before May 1. They play with balks, leadoffs and dropped third strikes. Call Jeff Hohman at (419) 448-7321 to sign up on a team.

GOLF: The Seneca Hills Golf Club has two leagues with openings that start in early May. The YMCA league runs 5-6 p.m. Thursdays. It is a two-man scramble with a handicap that begins May 10 and will run until the end of August. The other league runs 5-6 p.m. on Mondays starting May 7, with a fun night April 30. It will run until the end of September and is run by Bob Young. It is looking for a sponsor. Call Bobby Pollitt, PGA professional, to sign up ahead of time or for more information at (419) 447-9446.

n K of C League players should check the bulletin board at the K of C to see the first week’s pairings. The first night of the league is Thursday April 26. Schedules and rules sheets will be given out at this time.

n In Wednesday’s Senior League at Clinton Heights, Carl Rainey, Mike Hampp, Fred Smith and Steve Scheiber shot 4 under for first. In second at 3 under was Gary Espejo, Gary Kroeger, Rex Mellott and Dave Seislove. Prize holes went to Dick Hall (closest in one No. 5), Ray Nutter (closest in two No. 1), Espejo (closest in three No. 9) and Hampp (longest putt No. 5).

CHEERLEADING ADVISORS: New Riegel currently has openings for cheerleading advisors at the high school and junior high levels. Interested candidates should contact New Riegel Athletic Director Jamie Lininger at jlininger@newriegelschools.org.

SUMMER VOLLEYBALL: Summer volleyball leagues are forming at Tiffin Parks and Recreation. Leagues available include women’s coed Wednesday, coed Thursday and power (Tuesday). Play begins May 22. Email Nick Basting at nbasting@tiffinohio.gov for more information.

RACING: The second annual Attica Raceway Park-Oakshade Raceway Late Model Series Challange is to kick off in Attica Friday May 4 and continue May 5 at Oakshade in Wauseon. Each event is to pay the feature winner $1,200 and the series carries a point fund will reward the champion $1,000. Second place points holder is to receive $700 while third takes home $500 and fourth gets $200. Top-10 placers will receive gift cards from Summit Racing Equipment.
