COACH SOUGHT: Upper Sandusky High seeks a head coach for the girls tennis team for the 2018-19 school year. 5K RUN/WALK: Willard City Schools will host an Honor Run 5k run/walk March 10 at 9 a.m. Proceeds go to funding seats for veterans on the Honor Flight as well as the annual Veteran’s Day assembly held by Willard. Register at https://tinyurl.com/honorthebrave or log onto www.willardschools.org and download the registration form. All runners/walker should be registered by Feb. 24 to guarantee a T-shirt and avoid a late registration fee.

GIRLS JV BASKETBALL: Calvert beat Riverdale 25-22. Maddie Schumacher scored 11 points for Calvert and Maddy Ball backed her up with seven.

* Seneca East beat Mohawk 29-12.

* Old Fort beat Elmwood 31-26, getting 12 points from Laini Gillett and six each from Madison Guth and Kara Davidson.

* Upper Sandusky beat Bucyrus 47-16. Reagan Ward scored 12 points for Upper Sandusky and got seven from Sydnie Dible.

* Carey topped Buckeye Central 35-23.

GIRLS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Riverdale’s seventh grade beat Hopewell-Loudon 23-12 at the Cory-Rawson Invitational. Ashley Daniel scored five points for H-L and Jada Breidenbach had three.

BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Fremont St. Joe beat New Riegel 51-32. Chris Acree scored 18 points for New Riegel.

BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Calvert’s eighth grade beat New Riegel 33-18. Joe Tiell and Logan Schalk each scored five points for New Riegel.

* Shelby’s seventh grade edged Tiffin 41-39 in overtime. Isaiah Kelly scored 12 points for Tiffin, Mitch Scheiber netted 11 and Zak Siebenaller tallied 10.

* Jaden Myers scored 10 points to lead Tiffin’s eighth grade past Shelby 56-12. Bryce Burns backed him with nine points and Carson Mellott scored eight.
