RESULTS POLICY: Coaches turning in results for any sport are reminded to use full names for all athletes. Handwriting must be legible. Photos of scorebooks must be in focus and well lit. Records should be included. Results for high school and college events must be turned in that day by 10 p.m., barring extenuating circumstances (overtime, late start, etc.) All other events must be turned in by 8 p.m. Results can be turned in via E-mail at email@example.com, fax at (419) 447-3472, telephone at (419) 448-3250 or in the drop box by the paper’s front door at 320 Nelson St. Results must be turned in the day of the event. Depending on time constraints, games and events turned in which do not include full names or are turned in late may not have recaps written about them. Results which are unreadable will not be included in the paper.
JV BOYS BASKETBALL: Hunter Hendrix hit a foul shot with 5.3 seconds left to give Calvert a 41-40 win over Lakota. Josh Recker led the Senecas with 15 points and Hendrix added 12. Nathan Walter and Noah Dull each had 10 for the Raiders.
n Old Fort edged New Riegel 46-45. Carson Steyer led Old Fort with 16 points, while Zach Kohlenberg added 12. Brayden Rolsten had 13 for New Riegel.n Hopewell-Loudon beat Arcadia 33-11.
n Upper Sandusky beat Carey 60-53.
n Oak Harbor dropped Clyde 63-58. Cam Farrar keyed Clyde with 17 points.
FRESHMAN BOYS BASKETBALL: Jack Morrison scored 12 points to fuel Clyde’s 43-30 win against Oak Harbor.
BASKETBALL: The Carey Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) will hold the second annual Coaches vs. Cancer game Jan. 21 when Carey hosts Mohawk’s girls at 1 p.m. and Upper Sandusky’s boys at 6 p.m. TLC will sell baked goods and other items, with all proceeds benefiting the Wyandot County Relay for Life.
