UPPER SANDUSKY - The Wyandot Humane Society is to have a Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament 7-11 p.m. Friday in the Humane Society Bingo Hall, 995 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky. Celebrate summer with "The Block Party," 4 p.m.-midnight Saturday at Madison Street Tavern. The Beautiful Losers, MARS and the Eric Sowers Band are to provide live music. Tickets are $5 presale at MST or $7 at the door.
Movie lovers can see "Jumanji" with Robin Williams outdoors at 8 p.m. Sunday on Courthouse Square in downtown Tiffin. Bring seating and snacks. Admission is free for this outdoor event.
BELLEVUE - Historic Lyme Village in Bellevue is to be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 6 and 7 for Pioneer Days. Re-enactors, artisans and musicians are to demonstrate and inform visitors about how the early settlers in the area lived and worked. Sept. 6, Ben and Deborah Franklin, Abe Lincoln, Col. William Crawford and Gen. U.S. Grant are to make appearances. Members of the Victorian Guild are to offer tours of the Wright Mansion at $2 per person to benefit the building's restoration fund.
Larry Claus is to display and play his calliope behind the Seymour House. Brad Kepler, the Great Lakes Minstrel, Brick Street Strummers, the Country Crossroads Cloggers and the Lyme Village Pioneers are to provide live music and entertainment. Local artist Jim Andrews is to display his paintings in the Detterman Log Church, and The Post Mark Collectors Club Museum is to be open for guests.

'LOVE' artist Robert Indiana at center of exhibit
VINALHAVEN, Maine (AP) - Maine-based pop artist Robert Indiana plans to participate in a celebration of his art in countries across the world called International HOPE Day.
The artist is best known for his "LOVE" image, in which the L and a leaning O sit atop the V and the E. His 'HOPE' image follows a similar theme. It will be a part of installations and events in Munich, Caracas, Miami, New York City and Vinalhaven, Maine, Sept. 13, his 86th birthday.
Indiana will make a public appearance outside his residence and studio on Vinalhaven Island that day. There is to be a large 'HOPE' sculpture installed for the event.
