RESULTS POLICY: Coaches are reminded that game results must be submitted to the Advertiser-Tribune by 10:30 p.m. the day of the game, match or meet. There are a number of ways to submit results to the A-T. The preferred methods are e-mail or fax. Results can be e-mailed to email@example.com or faxed to (419) 447-3274. You also can drop them off in the mailbox at the office. The other option is calling the sports department at (419) 448-3250. First and last names of pertinent players as well as the final score, stats, site of the game and teams records should be included. Results must be received by 10:30 p.m. the day of the game, match or meet to be published. Anything beyond deadline will be eventually published in a severely condensed format.
PREP TENNIS: Norwalk defeated Columbian 5-0.
PUNT, PASS & KICK: Ten winners were crowned at the recent NFL/USA Football Punt, Pass & Kick competition at Frost-Kalnow Stadium. Alyssa Rishty claimed the girls 6-7 division with a combined distance of 57-3. Lexi Beaston ended second (39-3) and Kate Coleman came in third (28-0). Peyton Ross had the winning distance of 82-7 in the boys 6-7 division, followed by Hunter Haynes (80-7) and Ryan Adelsperger (78-11). The girls 8-9 title went to Kelsie Weingart, who had a distance of 92-10. Aston Yeager's distance of 162-6 took the boys 8-9 division, with Logan Beaston (153-1) and Gavin McLane (135-2) ending second and third. Brianna Landers had the winning distance of 122-10 in the girls 10-11 division, followed by Ciarra Oesch (105-7) and Gabrielle Pena (92-5). The boys 10-11 winner was Jaden Myers with a distance of 216-4, followed by Carson Mellott (165-5) and Adam Magers (161-6). Olivia Brown captured the girls 12-13 division with a distance of 148-11. Tyler Turek took the boys 12-13 championship with a distance of 309-4, with Nathan Adelman claiming second (242-9) and Carter Klausing finishing third (231-4). Beca Kimmet claimed the girls 14-15 division with a distance of 44 feet, while the boys championship went to Owen Morse and his distance of 224-5.
JUNIOR?HIGH CROSS COUNTRY: Tiffin Middle's Kerrick Fanning won Tuesday's race at Ontario, and led the Tiffin boys to a team win against Shelby and Norwalk. Corbin Houdeshell took third for TC. Fanning ran in 13:02, while Houdeshell ran in 13:14. The Tiffin girls took third in the team scores, and were led by Sierra Steinmetz, who took third in 14:48.
JV VOLLEYBALL: Carey beat Mohawk 25-18, 25-18.
n Arlington beat Hopewell-Loudon 25-21, 25-22.
JV SOCCER: Columbian fell to Ontario 4-3. Patrick DelTurco scored two goals for the Tornadoes, while Jacob Warnement scored a goal. Oliver Stevens had five saves. Anthony Petrosino had two saves.
JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Savannah McCoy lined 13 aces to key Old Fort's 25-18, 25-7 seventh grade win over Arcadia. Heidi Kissell belted seven more aces and MarQue Harris and Ashlyn Magers both smacked five.
n Old Fort's eighth grade fell 25-19, 25-12 to Arcadia. Morgan Miller paced Old Fort with three aces and two kills, Amber Eubank lined three kills, Madison Guth served two aces and Anna Winger had two digs.
n Upper Sandusky beat Seneca East 25-14, 25-17 in seventh grade play. SE's Taylor Enders served three aces, while Megan Rice added three aces. Hanah Bisignano added two kills for the Tigers.
n Seneca East's eighth grade won 25-15, 25-11 over Upper Sandusky. Winnie Snook served four aces for the Tigers, while Rehna Shook had six kills.

GOLF: Jeff Wise, Bob Grothaus, Bob Barchus and Bob Haefling shot even par to win Monday's Retirees League at Seneca Hills. Dick Best shot a 36 for the low gross. Prizes went to Ken Zeop (long putt No. 12) and Ray Krupp (closest to pin No. 16).
n Ken Gooding, Dave Combs, Dave Clouse and Bob Barchus won the tiebreaker over Brad Hess, Dave Welly, John Armstrong, Fritz Smith and Sam Paradiso to claim the Bump's Traveling League at Loudon Meadows. Both teams shot 10 under. Next week's outing is at Sycamore Hills near Fremont, beginning at 9 a.m.
n The Tiffin AMVETS scramble is Sept. 7 at Seneca Hills with an 8:30 a.m. start. The four-person scramble is $180 per team, which includes golf, cart fees, door prizes and dinner at Post No. 48. The outing is limited to the first 32 teams and is open to the public. Proceeds go to The Wounded Warrior Foundation. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 2.
