Since the beginning of the federal fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2013), it is estimated that 65,000 children (under age 18) have been caught crossing our porous southern border and a total exceeding 100,000 will cross by Sept. 30. Our border agents have been drawn back 70 miles, and now 70 percent of them are tied up with child care and paperwork in processing centers. And it is further estimated the number of people illegally entering our country who are apprehended reflects only 10 percent of those getting through.
