SHELBY - Jack Burkes and Graydon Bunting each fired a birdie and four pars Tuesday as Columbian upended Shelby 169-173 in Northern Ohio League play at Shelby Country Club.
Burkes and Bunting shared medalist honors after both carded a 40.
Wesley Henkel added a 44 for the Tornadoes (1-1), and Jared Consolo and Logan Gardner each shot a 45.
Kane Wagner's 41 paced the Crimson Flashes (1-2). Brock Keheres shot a 42.
Mohawks drop Blue Jackets
St. Wendelin topped New Riegel Monday in Sandusky River League action at Seneca Hills, 179-190. Peter Campbell fired five pars on his way to medalist honors in the dual meet with a 41. Teammate Joey DeHaven was right behind him with a 42.
Also for St. Wendelin (3-1, 2-1) Makenzie McAfee posted a 46 and Cameron Hunter shot a 50.
New Riegel (0-2, 0-2) was led by Travis Williams with a 42. Allen Acree and Lucas Williams each posted matching 48s and Andrew Faber carded a 52.
Dunlap's 45 paces Mohawk
UPPER SANDUSKY - Brayden Dunlap's 45 led all scorers Tuesday at Lincoln Hills, and helped Mohawk to a 187-193 victory over Northern 10 Athletic Conference rival Carey.
Dunlap's teammate, Chet Margraf, tied for the day's next-best score, finishing just a stroke off Dunlap's pace. Carey's Trey Bame had the Blue Devils' best score, matching Margraf with a 46.
Marcus Miller fired a 48 for Carey, which slipped to 3-2, 0-2 in the N10.
Mohawk, which improved to 2-0 in the league and overall, got 48s from Bill Dunlap and Nathan Kimmet.
Diehm fires a 38, Tigers cruise
Johnny Diehm shot a 38, one of four Seneca East player to card less than a 45 as the Tigers rolled past Bucyrus, 166-182.
Diehm had five pars on the day, and finished his afternoon with a birdie on Clinton Heights' ninth hole.
He wasn't the only Tiger to have a good day.
Jack Daniel shot a 41, Alex Forehand a 43 and Austin Holmer a 44.
Bucyrus was led by Keith Smith, who shot a 43, and Jesse Heinle, who had a 44.
