Gary L. Gottfried, 73, of 4532 W. TR 98, Tiffin, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at home.
Gary was born April 11, 1941, in Bucyrus to Lester and Martha (Lawrence) Gottfried. He married Vicki Watson, and they later divorced. He married Linda (Simpson-Warner) Gottfried March 9, 1984, and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jennifer Norwood and partner Erin McGinnis of Toledo, James (Diane) Gottfried of Marietta and Gina (Stephen) Dutcher of Bettsville; six grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, Nicholas, Jack, Sam and Maggie; one stepgrandson, Michael; and one great-grandson, Kael. Also surviving are one sister, Schareline Yeager of Tiffin; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cray of Sycamore; a brother-in-law, Jerry Simpson of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a 1959 graduate of Mohawk High School and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville.
Gary was a retired painter, working many years and retiring from Parker Painting, McCutchenville. He also worked prior to that at the General Electric plant in Tiffin and also did some farming throughout his lifetime.
He enjoyed being with his family, working outdoors and collecting various items, especially pedal tractors and John Deere memorabilia.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.
Visitation will be noon-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at the funeral home.
