Luther A. Hesson

Luther A. Hesson, 80, of Upper Sandusky and formerly of Carey, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

He was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Delaware, to Burley A. and Minerva J. (Hughes) Hesson. On Feb. 20, 1954, he married Wanda L. Wood at Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, and she survives.

He also is survived by six children, Robert (Rea) Hesson of Arlington, John (Teri) Hesson of Mt. Blanchard, Jane (Tim) Glick of Upper Sandusky, Barbara Higgins of Carey, Thomas (Joni) Hesson of Vanlue and Diane Hesson of Carey; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Hesson of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diane Stapley; and five brothers.

His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery near Carey.

Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Community Christian Center in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey.
