Michael A. Bloom of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed on to his heavenly home Thursday, July 31, 2014.
He was born April 9, 1957, in Tiffin, to John and Helen Bloom. He married Jennifer Grose in 1989 and they later divorced.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Bloom of Tiffin; one son, Aubrey of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one daughter, Chloe of Cleveland, Tennessee; eight siblings, Jean (Ron) Berry, Kathy (Glenn) Platt, Geralyn Hammer, Kenny (Darlene) Bloom, Ed (Tara) Bloom and Wanda Wenner, all of Tiffin, and Sharon (Ed) McCormack and Loretta Bloom, both of Aiken, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend and caregiver, Jenny Grose Bloom.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, John Bloom; sister, Carolyn Houck; and three brothers-in-law, Ed Houck, Ken Hammer and Gene Wenner.
Mike graduated from Mohawk High School in 1975. After briefly working at National Machinery, he served two terms in the United States Air Force. Mike was discharged as a SSGT and decorated F-16 crew chief. He earned an associate's degree in aviation maintenance and his A&P certification.
Mike's passions were his children, working in his yard and garden and sharing the produce. He attended St. Luke's Catholic Church, Smyrna, Tennessee.
Burial, with military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
A memorial Mass will take place in Tiffin at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation or Alive Hospice of Nashville, Tennessee.
