Paulette Sue Alloway, 72, of Bettsville, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Grandwood Assisted Living Center, Grove, Oklahoma.
Paulette was born May 3, 1942, in Fostoria, to Paul Edmond Andrews and Maxine Marguerite (Heinze) Andrews Edgerton. She married Jan Murphy and they later divorced. She then married William Kenneth Alloway Jan. 25, 1970, in Bettsville, and he preceded her in death April 7, 2010.
Survivors include her four children, John Paul (Kathy Lynn) Murphy of Seneca, Missouri, Christine Jo (Kent) Parker of McCutchenville, Michael James (Leslie) Murphy of Grove, Oklahoma, and Alan Durrett Alloway of Bettsville; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Murphy of Bettsville and Charlene Jo Lebold of Sylvania; and a stepbrother, Wayne Edgerton of Kimbolton.
Paulette retired from Bettsville School after 32 years. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Bettsville, and a graduate of Bettsville High School. Paulette enjoyed her music whether it was playing bells at church, playing her organ at home or just singing along with the radio. She loved a good campfire and visits with family and friends.
Paulette also was preceded in death by her parents and a stepsister, Paula Mihki.
Her funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Zion United Church of Christ, Bettsville with the Rev. Curt Gallmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Bettsville, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
