A Fostoria woman and child were injured after a single-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Hancock County.
According to a release from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Lucina Brose, 38, had been driving a 2007 Ford Mustang westbound on SR 613 near CR 140 in Allen Township when she lost control of the car just before 1:15 a.m.
The Mustang then traveled off the north side of the road, struck a tree and mailbox, went over a drainage ditch and into a field before it struck another tree and came to rest near a house.
A passenger, Josiah Brose, 4, was transported by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with unknown injuries, according to the release. Lucina was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay for her injuries.
A spokeswoman from St. Vincent's said Tuesday evening Josiah Brose was in the intensive care unit and in critical condition.
According to the release, alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. It remains under investigation.
