Joseph R. ‘Joe’ Walland

Joseph R. "Joe" Walland, 54, of Bettsville, passed away Saturday evening, July 19, 2014, at his home.

He was born Oct. 9, 1959, in Tiffin, to William and Lois (Van Camp) Walland.

Survivors include his fiancee, Lisa Boehler; son, Thane (Abby Aller) Boehler of Tiffin; daughter, Tyne (Eric Lopez) Brown of Tiffin; two brothers, William (Edwina) Walland and Charles (Lisa) Walland, both of Tiffin; two sisters, Rebecca Burkett of Tiffin and Catherine (Richard) Coleman of Ardmore, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Keyera and Alex Hamm, Dominic Brown and Carson and Chloye Boehler; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael D. Walland.

Joe was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, and worked at Green Bay Packaging, Fremont, for 20 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 733, Bettsville, and a former member of Fremont Moose Lodge 1555. He enjoyed swimming and riding in the car and he loved his cat, Jazzy.

His funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424, with the Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
