Paul F. Brose, 83, of McCutchenville, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
He was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Fostoria, the son of William H. and Louise R. (Reinhart) Brose. He married Nancy Ann Shock Aug. 2, 1958, at St. Wendelin Church, Fostoria, and she survives in McCutchenville.
Also surviving are four children, Mary Jo (Donald) Brugmann of Evansville, Indiana, Louise (Bruce) Townsend of Locke, New York, Gerard (Gabriele) Brose of McCutchenville and Angela (Doug) Hullinger of Kettering; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; nine siblings, Anna Waltemeyer, Lucille (Fred) Smith and Bernard Brose, all of Fostoria, Inez Kerlin of Clyde, Jeanette (George) Lucius of Bucyrus, Alice Lucius and Francis (Donna) Brose, both of Tiffin, Andrew (Betsy) Brose of Sycamore and Roseann (Jim) Mayer of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children, Anthony and Virginia Brose; and four brothers, William (infant), Virgil, Herman and Jacob Brose.
Paul was a lifelong farmer and custodian and maintenance man for Mohawk Schools. He was a member of The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. His passion was woodworking. He enjoyed making toys for his grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 3-8 p.m. today, July 15, 2014, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. A scripture service will begin at 8 p.m. with Father Ron Shock officiating.
His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation with the Rev. Florian Tiell, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Frenchtown.
