Folk concert scheduled
FOSTORIA - Bob and Julie Theroux of Whitehouse perform folk music as Mystic Wood. They are to be featured in concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Meadowlark Park, Fostoria, part of Fostoria Community Arts Council's Summer Concert Series.
Admission is free. The rain location is Wesley Church on Van Buren Street.
Country music offered
The American Legion, 280 S. Washington St., is to be open to all 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday with country and Southern rock music by The D.B. Hawkens Band.

Superhero birthday party planned at Fremont venue
FREMONT - Rupp's Comics is hosting a 75th birthday party Saturday for Batman.
The store is hosting "Batman" artist Jason Fabok for a rare in-store appearance signing autographs, displaying his original artwork and talking to fans 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The first 200 guests to arrive Saturday will receive limited edition Batman posters, featuring artwork by Fabok, which they can have signed then and at no cost. Rupp's Comics also will be giving away limited edition comic books provided by DC Comics as long as supplies last. Fans also will can meet and have their picture taken with Batgirl and enjoy a slice of Batman cake.

Verandah show on tap
FREMONT The Honey Creek Preservation "Jass" Band is to perform at 7 p.m. July 23 for a free outdoor concert at the Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont.
Audience members should bring their own seats. Before the concert, attendees can enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social at 6:45 p.m. The music lasts until 8 p.m.

Columbus art exhibition explores 'Invasive Biomes'
COLUMBUS - As an artist and observer of nature, Cleveland artist Jonah Jacobs tries to unlock the mysteries of natural structures. His work can be explored during a special Ohio Art League exhibition, "Invasive Biomes," running Friday through July 26 at MadLab Theatre in Columbus.
This exhibition is on view during the MadLab theater production, "The Young Writers Short Play Festival" at 227 N. Third St., Columbus. There is no admission to view the artwork.

'Spamalot' cast wanted
Bellevue Society for the Arts is to have open auditions for its 201415 season opener, Monty Python's "Spamalot," at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at 205 Maple St., Bellevue.
Based on the classic comedy, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," "Spamalot" retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table with a bevy of show girls, cows, killer rabbits and French citizens.
The director is seeking an ensemble cast of at least 20 (about 15 parts for men and 16 parts for women if some of the cast members play multiple roles). The cast may be larger than 20 and include feature parts for ensemble members. There are opportunities for solo dancers and some ensemble dancing. Particular interest will be given to those who have tap and ballet experience.
For auditions, be prepared to sing at least 12 bars of a piece of music that demonstrates vocal range, diction and storytelling ability while singing. All music auditions will be a cappella.
